Thursday 25th February - walks **** - Around Felixstowe – Top sunrise then cloudy finishing with an amazing sunset:)

Had a bit of a disturbed night as the huge ‘Evergreen’ container ship is in Felixstowe docks which means with the wind in the SW we get an annoying droning hum :( We were awake early so got dressed and headed down to the cliff top a short walk down our road to catch the sunrise. Instead of going down onto the prom we walked along the top to get a different view as the sky turned reddy purple but still down sun above the horizon. In fact, we were down in the Spa gardens when we first spotted it and managed to get some nice pics. The red ball soon turns white before disappearing into the clouds not to be seen again until just before sunset! We continue on to the end of the prom at Jacobs ladder with the usual dog walkers, joggers and brave open water swimmers! We meet an old friend of our son walking her dogs and stop for a chat, social distanced of course, her in the gardens with use on the prom:) Then it was back home for Mag to read a few chapters while I sort out my pics, sending some to ITV’s About Anglia where they featured one this afternoon, always nice to see one on TV:) Busy day at home with me doing my exercises while Mag cleans the windows, with the kittens either asleep together on our bed or getting into trouble climbing our lovely wooden banisters or out jumping each other while after a mouse on an elastic! We need something in Lidl so walk down there after lunch and stroll through Langer Park spotting a squirrel, rabbit, long tailed tit and loads of robins. Returning back along the prom for a very welcome cuppa and cake:) Then around 5.30 we spotted the most amazing sunset out of our front room window so I quickly grabbed my camera and ran down our road in my pyjamas getting so lovely pics:) So what a top day seeing both the sunrise and set, with two days of wall to wall sunshine and light winds I think the bikes are calling!
